A Happy Rabbit Home
Rabbits need much more room than most people think. They should be able to hop, stretch up tall and stretch out flat.
Go big!
Choose the biggest hutch or pen you can, joined to a safe run so your rabbit can exercise every day. Small cages are not enough.
Rabbits need friends
Rabbits are happiest living with another rabbit. A grown-up should ask a rescue centre or vet how to introduce them safely.
Cosy and clean
Give soft bedding and a hiding place to feel safe. Clean out the toilet area every day and the whole home every week.
Not too hot, not too cold
Rabbits can get very ill in hot weather. Keep their home in the shade, out of draughts and away from loud noises.
Chew toys
Cardboard tubes, untreated wood blocks and willow balls give them something safe to chew.
🏡 Always ask a grown-up and a vet if you're unsure about caring for a pet.
