What Hamsters Eat

Hamsters are omnivores, which means they eat both plants and a little protein.

Hamster food mix

Use a good quality hamster food made of seeds, grains and pellets. Give a small portion every evening.

A small piece of fresh veg such as broccoli or cucumber now and then is fine. Remove any uneaten fresh food the next day.

Always have fresh water in a bottle or a heavy bowl and change it every day.

Hamsters hide food in their nest. It's normal! Check the stash and throw away anything fresh that has gone off.

Chocolate, sweets, onions, citrus fruit, raw beans and sticky foods are not safe for hamsters.
