A Happy Gerbil Home

Gerbils love to dig, so the best home is a deep tank full of tunnelling material.

A deep tank

A glass tank with a secure mesh lid works well. It should be filled with deep bedding so gerbils can dig tunnels.

Gerbils get lonely alone. Keep two gerbils of the same sex who have been together from a young age.

Give a small tray of special chinchilla sand for them to roll in. It keeps their fur clean and healthy.

🎡

A solid-surface wheel, cardboard tubes and little houses give them places to run and hide.

🧼

Gerbils make very little mess. Spot-clean when needed and do a fuller clean now and then.
